Price including tax

Recommended Posts

I am a bit of a noob at this but I have Prestashop 1.4.5.1 I want the prices shown on my site to including tax if it is applicable. At the moment it shows for example £10 tax excl. i would like it to show just the price (£12.00) and nothing about whether tax is included or not. I know it adds it in the cart. I have searched the forums but cannot seem to find my answer.

Hope somebody can help

Thanks

What do you actually mean by 'if it's applicable'?

Are you VAT registered or not?

If not you can disable the tax in Payments>Taxes. Then tax will not show anywhere at all on your site, even in the cart.

Which specific areas of the site did you want the text to not appear?

If it is on the product pages, I had to edit product.tpl and basically comment/or remove out the lines that say:

{l s='tax excl.'}

Its not the text really. I just want all prices to include tax that are displayed on the site.

Thanks

Some of the products are second hand and not subject to tax.

If you are UK VAT registered then most second hand goods are subject to VAT. The only second hand goods that are not subject to VAT are those that were free of VAT when new.

You can change the price display from excl. tax to incl. tax in BO under Customers>Groups.

If you would like to change excl. tax to excl. VAT and incl. tax to incl. VAT you can do this in Tools>Translations>Front Office Translations.

After much searching and looking at code, this issue is fixed for me.  It turned out that I had earlier copied some recommended code from the forum on how to alter the formatting of prices. The poster, not being from the US, provided code that did not exclude taxes in the product prices.  After I added "_tax_exc" to $product.price to get "$product.price_tax_exc" in a few tpl's, it worked perfectly.  It would have helped it I examined the code to start with.
