Tiny Twig
Hi everyone, How can I put a meta Noindex on only a selection of product pages and not all product pages ? My website features around 20 products. For some of these products, I have created a different product page for each colour variation (ie product A in red, product A in blue, product A in yellow, etc.). For Google, this represents duplicates. I have just read this article : http://www.seomoz.org/blog/fat-pandas-and-thin-content. For "Near Duplicates internal", it is advised to index only one product page (for instance product A in red) and put a meta noindex on all the other product pages featuring the same product (ie product A in blue, product A in yellow, etc.). I just do not know how to do that with PS 1.4. Thanks very much for your help.
Ronaldo Perez
How can I put a meta Noindex on only a selection of product pages and not all product pages ? - You can add colors - red, yellow, blue, etc. in a single product - in the form of options. You will not need to create duplicates of pages - Not a very nice way, but you can check in the template product id - and add noindex only where necessary
Tiny Twig
Hello Sergey, Thanks very much for your prompt answer, Regarding your 2 suggestions : 1. use colours as attributes of a single product I cannot use this one, My website is similar to www.archiduchesse.com. There is a limited number of products. It is therefore important to have the different colours options displayed in the category page (and not in the product page). 2. add noindex to product template Unfortunately I am not a developer. Would you know the code to be added to the product template file ? Ideally, I would need a code saying that except for a selection of products ids (that I will define), all products ids are noindex. Thanks again for your help.
