Prestashop 1.4.5.1

PayPal module 2.8.2 (the default module included with Prestashop)

As far as I can see it's configured correctly with the required API settings and account email address.

Payments by credit cards is checked

Payment type is Direct Sales

Sandbox is inactive (but the same result if active)

On the Logos page "Template chosen for PayPal Integral Evolution:" confuses me but A is checked.

PayPal checkout page is customised and functions properly when used by Open Cart on another site belonging to the same client.

Clicking on the PayPal logo on the payment page of the cart produces this:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The cPanel error log has this:

[Mon Nov 14 18:12:41 2011] [error] [client 94.194.92.41] File does not exist: /home/oxyjeton/public_html/500.shtml, referer: http://oxyjetonline.co.uk/order

[Mon Nov 14 18:12:41 2011] [error] [client 94.194.92.41] SoftException in Application.cpp:256: File "/home/oxyjeton/public_html/modules/paypal/payment/submit.php" is writeable by group, referer: http://oxyjetonline.co.uk/order

I can see someone else has posted with a similar error in this forum with no responses.

Surely someone knows how to resolve this, please?

If this module cannot be configured to work, is there an alternatine Paypal module available that does work?

Solved.....

It's a permissions issue.

Change the permissions for the modules folder from 777 to 755. after that enter the modules folder and change the permissions for the PayPal folder and all it's contents to 755.

I suggest this is either pinned or these instructions are included somewhere in the module. This will affect anyone who installs Prestashop via Scriptaculous or similar.
