mick_lowe
Hi all, New to the Prestashop software but been using Joomla for a few years now, I've been asked to create a shop and the client wants it to look like this one www.allroundercricket.com/ - is this possible? Thanks Mick
cedricfontaine
Yes, you would have to create your own theme. Have a look at the showcase, and you'll see that almost everything is doable : http://www.prestashop.com/en/showcase_liveshops/
Mike Kranzler
Hi Mick, First of all, welcome to PrestaShop! From a functionality standpoint, it's certainly possible based on what I see on that site. You can create categories for "Shop by Product" and "Shop by Brand" with subcategories underneath each, and add products to both sections as needed. Additionally, you can find a wide range of templates on our Addons store, or even design your own if you're comfortable with CSS. I hope this helps. -Mike
mick_lowe
Cedric/Mike, Many thanks for the quick replies, I've not done much with CSS (I work as a software developer using COBOL) but I'll do some research and see how I get on, is it difficult to pick up? Mike Kranzler
Hi Mick, In this situation, Lynda.com can be your best friend . Alternatively, you can find ready-made themes in the Addons store or request an experienced designer to handle it for you here on the forums. I hope this helps. -Mike
Carolina Custom Designs
I highly recommend 'an experienced designer' that offers good customer care before, during and after the store design Most of the themes are cheap but good luck if you run into any problems. I just fixed a site for a forum member that bought a theme and after reporting issues to the designer he got no response. Be careful! Hope that helps!
