URGENT - Site Problems

Recommended Posts

I have asked these questions previously but have gotten no response. If there is nobody on here who can answer my questions please could you advise me where to ask. I chose Prestashop because it had a good forum but I feel that my questions are being judged as too basic to answer?

On my website www-flyballstuff-co.uk some of the items above the Cart Black have doubled up:

c[spam-filter]hh.png

I now have 2 account logos and extra text after the Basket !! This is making my site look bad.

Secondly. The attributes are showing alphabetically. As the different sizes of my products are different prices and 'Large' is showing first it is making them look expensive.

Please advise, thank you.

Hi Melster,

I took a look at this for you, and it appears that there are multiple "File not found" errors with your theme, potentially due to any edits or renaming you may have done during the process.

See the logs here.

Can you please try switching to the default theme temporarily to see if your issues persist? If they are not present on the default theme, then it is an issue with your current theme.

And if this truly is urgent, you can always call our support team at 888 947 6543.

I hope this helps.

-Mike

Did you deleted your browser cache ? I cannot see any probleme in your shop. If you want to have the title bar in black too, so you must change the bar for "exclusive".

For the second: You can buy a add-on on where you can sort this. Moreover you forgot to set the standard to the lower price, so you are having this behavior.

Firstly, no posts on the forum are considered to basic to answer. We all understand that there are different levels of competence using prestashop. Everyone started where you are at some point.

You also have to remember that the forum has members from all over the world with different time zones (I am 7-hours ahead of you) and sometimes, particularly when the forum is quite active, a person that may have known the answer may have missed your post. If your post has not been answered after a couple of days, you can always bump it up with a 'anyone please'.

Regarding your question, if you have no luck with the responses above, it looks like you have two instance of the User info module active.

Go to Modules>positions and look under the Header of pages section. If you have two instances of User info block there, delete one of them.

Thanks for the replies. i have just had my website listed on the British Flyball Association website and for me first impression count so I do want to clear this up asap.

I have switched to the default theme and it remains the same unfortunately. I did make some changes to the cache whilst following a tutorial and that's when the problem happened with the logos.

I have had a look at the site with the links you posted but am not quite sure what to do to correct them. It says the files are not found but when I click the links they come up?

I will have a look at setting the lower price to standard?

OK .. I have tried changing to the default theme with no success.

I have found the User Info Block and disabled it, reset it.

I deleted the modules>blockuserinfo and replaced it with an untouched file.

I can't figure this out at all .. help.

Hi Mike

It was a Facebook Like Box where I had to check/change ... force compile and cache to make it work. I can't find the exact tutorial again for some reason.

This is the last thing now but I would like people to be able to log in to and account.

Sorry but there is just not enough backup with Prestashop.

As a newbie after adding products the first thing I want to do is change the site background and make some basic changes but there are no tutorials and if you search on the forum all the answers are out of date. I have tried searching but I have ended up causing errors which I cannot remedy.

For example I wanted to move the Customisation up and posted on the forum well over a week ago but got no replies. I searched and all the fixes didn't work.

I do not want to ring the USA to try and remedy this so have had to uninstall Prestashop and move to Opencart which has good step by step instructions for many subjects.

Hi,

I can sympathise with you to a certain extent. The thing that lets down prestashop in a very big way is documentation. What documentation is available is disappointing at best.

Regarding support in the forum you have to remember that it is to a large extent a user to user forum and it's a global forum so of course, some posts go by a few days without being contributed, and sometime not answered at all. This is just the nature of the beast and is no different to many other support forums out there.

Having said that, in recent months things have much improved. You now have much more involvement from the prestashop team. Take Mike for example, who has been trying to assist you in this thread. He only joined in August of this year and has already clocked 2300+ posts in user support. Things still need to improve but they are moving in the right direction.

Finally, and to be blunt, many users only have themselves to blame with a lot of the problems I see posted about here. When you want to make changes to a file it is imperative that you make a back up of that file first. If you don't do this then moving to another cart solution is not going to help you. You will have the same problems.

May I suggest that you install another instance of prestatshop either in a sub-folder or on your own PC to use as a test version. You can then carry out changes to your hearts content before implementing them on your live site. This way you live site will always be free of problem/errors due to badly implemented modifications.

Hi Melster,

Where are you located? I suggested that you call our USA office because your English seems perfect and I saw no indication otherwise as to where you live. We also have an office in France, but if the issue is the international calling to the US, you're more than welcome to reach out to our tech team via Skype once they return from the annual Barcamp in Paris.

If you would like to do that, please let me know and I will be happy to set up a call with our technical experts for you.

-Mike
