[SOLVED] Change Country to New Zone

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am trying to do the following:

- Free Shipping in my own country

- Some Shipping Cost to all other Countries based on 4 price slabs

My problem is :

- I created a new zone called 'India Domestic Zone' from Back office > Shipping > Zones

- I added country India to this zone 'India Domestic Zone' from original "ASIA" from Back office > Shipping > Countries

- I created 5 New Carriers from Back office > Shipping > Carriers for 4 international price slabs and one for my country "India Domestic Carrier". Then I selected all zones in International Carriers including "Asia" except "India Domestic Zone" . In "India Domestic Carrier" I selected only "India Domestic Zone" .

- Then I created 5 New Price Ranges and Weight Ranges from Back office > Shipping > Price Ranges & Back office > Shipping > Weight Ranges

The problem is that the country is not moving to new zone. Any address from my country gets treated as "Asia" which was the original zone and therefore on checkout as per price bracket an International Carrier is shown.

I am using Prestashop version 1.4.4.0 . Attached are some snapshots.

Anyone knows what may be going wrong ?

Firstly, you can only use shipping base on price 'or' based on weight. You can't use both.

Your other settings look OK but you haven't mentioned your Fees by Carrier settings. If you have not set these then I would think this would be where your problem lies.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your response .

- I am using price slab rules only right now.

- I have also set the Fees in Back Office > Shipping , for each carrier .

I have tried a lot but can't seem to find a solution to this issue ! I have checked all settings . I want to draw your attention to the fact that I have pointed the country "India" to a new zone "India Domestic Zone" but all orders of originating from India point to "Asia" the original zone. This was confirmed by the fact that when I add Asia to International carries after removing India from it all orders from India start show international shipping charges and slabs. Is there a possibility of the country and zone settings are not getting saved correctly.

Can some one with a version 1.4.4.0 confirm that this works for them. ?

Hi Dave , it just means I have created 4 price "ranges" for international shipping . Can you figure out why even after removing India from "Asia" Zone and placing it in a new zone "India Domestic Zone" ,moving "Asia to an "International carrier" causes Indian customers to see International shipping carrier fees. This should not be happening.

Currently I have applied a workaround by including "ASIA" zone and "India Domestic Zone" in "Indian Domestic Carrier" . This atleast allows me to keep free shipping for India , but I have to live with free shipping to Asia which is a big problem. The International carriers and their price ranges is work fine with this workaround. Any help appreciated on why moving country to new zone is not working out.

Thanks to Dave , this issue is now resolved.

The reason for the error was that for Countries which have "States" you need to change zone of each state to new zone also through Back Office > Shipping > States . Just moving country to new zone will not suffice ,all states will have to moved also one by one.

Hey guys,

I'm having a similar problem - I want to have different shipping rates to Japan. By default Japan belongs to Asia zone, but I moved it to South America zone because shipping rates from my location are the same as for South America. I also moved each Japan state to South America, as suggested by Dave and DragonWarrior, but the rates given are still the ones from Asia.

Where else should I look to solve this problem. It is driving me insane, I lost a lot of hours for this and no solution yet.

Thanks guys.

M.
