How to rewite URL within Presta

The core prestashop rewrites URLs very well for product pages, in that it writes to the browser the current URL for that product.

 

For example,both these URLs:

canineconcepts.co.uk/en/car-travelling/3884-XXXXXXXcar-seat-cover.html

canineconcepts.co.uk/en/car-travelling/3884-YYYYYYcar-seat-cover.html

will correctly get there browser URL rewritten as:

canineconcepts.co.uk/en/car-travelling/3884-car-seat-cover.html

 

Where in PS is this handled?

 

Why am I asking?

 

I am using the Prestablog module and it does not rewrite the URL like the rest of PS. So google thinks these are two separate pages, with the same content.

canineconcepts.co.uk/en/blog/26-train-your-XXXXXXX

 

OK, I know I could solve this in the .htaccess file, but I have some how ended up with hundreds of examples of the above
