ESLION
Hi, Bit a newb question thisWhen I submit a image, I know that it auto generates thumnails of various sizes. But It is just adding white space, to these images. My background is Black, and it makes it looks a bit crap. Im looking for a way to change it so that the whitespace, becomes blackspace in the images.
dbaker
I am having this same problem. I don't know why it should even be adding it!? Did you figure out a way to stop this?
prestabase
Can you provide a link so we all can see where this is happening?
dbaker
Yeah you can see it here on my test site: http://shop.rickanddrew.com/product.php?id_product=10Please note that the images have a 5px white border on them.
rocky
Do a search for "$white =" in images.inc.php and change all the 255, 255, 255 values to the RGB of the background colour you want. For example, changing the values to 0, 0, 0 will make all new images have a black background instead of a white background. Remember to go to Preferences > Images and click "Regenerate thumbnails" so that your existing images are changed to a black background.
dbaker
Is there anyway to turn off the "add background color to images"? Because if I do it the way you suggested, then when the images are viewed fullscreen (or thickbox) they'll have a gray background. Also, I don't want my images to be re sized at all. How come the "Maximum" size settings aren't treated like "Maximum" and are treated like "Make all images this size".I'm surprised that this is how the images are treated. Why would anyone want this done to their images? Thanks for your help.
rocky
That's the way Prestashop was designed. I personally think it is neater and more professional to have all images the same size than to have different-sized full-sized images pop up. The only way you can avoid the background colour is make all your images the same size and enter the exact size of the images under Preferences > Images. This is what I did for the Munum site. dbaker
For future users having this problem, I've just paid the $55 to buy this cart plugin to Wordpress: http://shopplugin.net/. It's much easier to theme for, and excerpt for the complex inventory management, it does pretty much everything I need.
