nrgytrading
Hi. Prestashop is a fantastic solution, and I like it very much. my shop use Norwegian, Danish and Swedish language. Now when I want to add German, I got a problem, and I cant find a solution in forums. I have already translated the store, admin, error msg, pdf, field names and e-mail templates to german. Everything worked fine. BUT, when I try module translations I get a blank page. (attached) Browser does'nt even try to load anything (module translations is rather slow on loading normally) I have tried from different computers and flushed compile folder. Same problem all over. This happens only with german. Other languages (installed or not) works. Any ideas? :-) Thanks.
tomerg3
looks like an error, turn on error reporting in /config/config.inc.php line #29 and reload the page. You should see an actual error, which you can paste here.
Mike Kranzler
Hi nrgytrading, This is likely an issue with your PHP memory limit. If you give your hosting provider a call, explain the issue and ask them to increase your memory limit, that should solve your problem. I hope this helps. -Mike
nrgytrading
Hi guys. thanks for fast reply. tomerg3: I tried to set "@ini_set('display_errors', 'on'); - but it gave me no error message :-( Mike Kranzler: PHP memory limit is set to 64 as default. I tried to set it 128, but no luck. I have read about this, and understood 64 is "normally" enough? :-( cache and compile files was taken care of during these tests.... The weird thing is that module translation works fine for all other languages... but not German. I was thinking maybe the loading of german module translation was interrupted somehow the first time i tried to open it, and something went wrong in my database or some file? could that be a scenario? Thanks again guys..
tomerg3
64mb ram is enough, it's not likely the issue. If you don't see any errors, it may that your host does no allow to override the default setting of "off". Try to see if you can locate an error in the main error log (usually in your cpanel), try to do it again and check that log for a recent error from your IP address. nrgytrading
I found this in an error log: [Wed Nov 09 10:55:26 2011] [error] [client [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]] File does not exist: [path to root]/{shop_logo}, referer: http://[domain]/adminxx/index.php?tab=AdminTranslations&lang=de&type=mails&token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx this and other almost identical was generated the first time I tried to open module translation for german. All related to [shop_logo] some of them in module folders... My shop_logo is not at root folder, but in the theme folder. Did'nt tell me much then... but maybe its related to the language files somewhere? Thanks again :-)
tomerg3
Unlikely, if you try another language, do you still see those errors?
nrgytrading
no, this error occurs only with the german language, and was generated only the first time I tried to translate modules :-)
tomerg3
very odd, you can try to report this in the bug tracker, as it probably requires taking a closer look.
