Fedex Module: Ground home delivery (Not available)

Recommended Posts

My Fedex module is working but, for some reason, it will not allow "Ground home delivery."

I offer both 'Fedex ground' and 'Ground home delivery' to my customers but only the option for 'Fedex ground' is showing up in check out.

I can place a check-mark in the module configuration next to 'Ground home delivery' but in parenthesis it says that that is 'not available.

No one ever replied to this post and I had even forgotten about it- until I tried again with the latest default template on1.4.7.3. And the exact same problem still exists. I have tried every way that I can imagine to get the Fedex Module to work correctly, but - 6 MONTHS later - and still no solution. If that module is not being updated, not being supported, then could someone please let us know so that we can abandon it? I have noticed that several others have had trouble with the PrestaShop native Fedex Module and the only person who seems to ever offer help is a user who created a different module that he is selling.

Hi Mike (and others),

I called Fedex Tech support and even allowed the Technician to remotely access my settings. He looked all around the Fedex Module and the Shipping tab but could not find anything that was wrong. His final assessment was that he thought that there should be a box that could be checked that says "This address is a residence" similar to what they have at the Fedex website, so that the "Fedex Home Delivery" fee schedule could be applied. He also said that if I am getting the "Ground" fees through my Fedex API, then I should be getting the other fees as well (home delivery, overnight delivery, etc.), but I cannot get anything to show up on the checkout screen except the Fedex Ground fee. I tested duplicate addresses using both my PS and by logging on to my Fedex account at Fedex.com - the calculated fees were identical, so I know that PS is, at least, pulling my rates through from Fedex. But Only The Ground Rates! Could this be a bug of some sort?

Thanks,

Tony

Hi Tony,

If you think this is a bug, please don't hesitate to post a report here and our developers will look into this for you. However, you may also want to make sure you've properly configured all of your various zones and price and weight ranges in the Back Office.

Thank you Mike,

I went to the bug report area and searched to see if anyone else was having the same problem. As it turns out, someone else had reported the same exact problem back in December 28, 2011 but the issue is still marked as "unresolved." I added to the comments, relating how I had found the same bug. Can you tell me if adding the comment to the existing issue was adequate to alert someone to the ongoing bug? Or- should I have created a new issue report so that this can - hopefully - get fixed. It is a pretty important issue for some as it causes us to loose money on shipping.

Thanks,

Tony

Hi Tony, did you ever get any resolution to this Fedex issue? I'm going through Fedex problems now myself. The most recent thing that doesn't work is that I cannot add any of the other Fedex choices, such as Next day, or Fedex express saver. I was having trouble with the whole module so I disabled it and reset everything. When I did reset it I thought it would be a good idea to just hook in Fedex ground with the intention to add the other options after I got it squared away. Well I almost got it squared away so I decided to put a check mark in all of the other options. Sure enough they don't even appear in the options list at check out. It's a similar issue to what you had so thats why I'm asking. If you did get it to work, how did you do it.?
