Is it possible to have too many attributes?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm in the middle of designing a website for a t-shirt printing business. I would like customers to go on and be able to include all the personalisation details when ordering, however when I add the attributes it brings back a blank catalog page and I am unable to view the product on the website.

For example, i've set the following product up with 3 attributes but it equals over individual 4000 options. Is this what is causing the problem?

Colour - 50 option

+

Size - 8 options

+

Personalisation - 8 Options

Do I need to increase the memory somewhere? Thanks in advance.

thanks for the feedback but i'm still having the same issue. When I delete all of the combinations the product will show on the website but when I add them again it will disappear. I find that the BO will load all of the combinations quickly and there doesn't appear to be any issue until you view the FO.

The issue is on firefox but i haven't tested it in IE yet. Upgraded to 1.4.5.1 and running the new theme 1.5

Anyone have any ideas? :)

I think I may be having the same issue...

I'm doing a website, and they import their combinations through CSV. The back office displays them fine, and the front office only displays two of the combinations. And it also seems to be adding VAT on to the price increase.

However, last night it corrected itself. Does it take some time to generate these combinations in the front end?

PS will stop working (out of memory issues) when you have about 1,000 - 3,000 combinations per product.

Check out this module http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/47363-module-attribute-wizard-pro-create-an-unlimited-number-of-attributes-and-display-as-radio-button-checkbox-dropdown-textbox-teaxtarea-files/ which allows you to bypass that limit, as it handles combinations differently
