Removing the currency block

Hi

 

I just installed a fresh copy of Prestashop (the latest version). I was trying to unhook the currency block, because I don't want it to appear. However, when I do, the currency block doesn disappear, rather it loses styling and I get link on the top right of the page (see image attached)

 

Is that a bug or what??

oh and by the way, the same thing happens with the Permanent links block and Language block... If I remove them all, this is what I get!

How did you 'unhook' the blocks?

Under Modules > Positions as you usually do it... I removed them from the Header of pages hook...

As 'you' usually do it perhaps.

 

I usually do it by either disabling the module in Modules>Front Office Features.

The last time I used Prestashop was a year ago, with version 1.3.xx

Is it better to disable or uninstall the module in your opinion?

Generally I just disable if there's a chance I may want to use it in the future. Otherwise I uninstall it.

 

To be honest I don't think it really matters.
