tmvision
Hi, guys. Yesterday, I tried to update my PrestaShop install and it failed. I had created a backup of all the site's files, so once it failed, I simply deleted everything from the PS directory and re-uploaded the backup files. Now the site won't load at all. http://iridesideways.../categories.php What could be causing this? I thought about restoring the default PrestaShop theme, but I'm not sure how to do that via phpMyAdmin? Thanks!
Carl Favre
Hi tmvision, Did you also backup your database?
tmvision
I did, yes. I don't think the database will have changed though, as I never ran the install script. All I did was upload the new files - the site wouldn't load once I did. Can I change the site's theme via phpMyAdmin?
Carl Favre
Can you also restore it and tell me if it works ?
tmvision
I have just tried restoring the database and it's still not working. Hmm. Any other ideas?
Carl Favre
The problem seems to be linked to url redirection. http://www.iridesideways.com/ works http://www.iridesideways.com/?page_id=38 works too but all the other URLs have no "www" but "shop" in it and do not work : http://iridesideways.com/shop/team.php Have you checked in the back-office PrestaShop path ? Regenerated the htaccess ? SEO&URL too ?
tmvision
Yeah, sorry. I should have mentioned this before. We have WordPress installed in the root directory. PrestaShop was installed in the /shop directory. So everything inside PrestaShop is failing basically. Thanks so much for your help. I'm stressing out here, haha. Carl Favre
Oh ok, I checked a bit too fast, I did not realize In config/settings.inc.php is everything also OK?
tmvision
Haha, that's okay. No problem. Everything seems fine and dandy in the settings.inc.php file. The credentials in there match my database etc. Nothing has changed since before I tried to update.
Carl Favre
Could you send me in PM your back-office login/password to take a look ? You should also signal your problem in the bug tracker so a developer can be assigned to it.
tmvision
Sure. Thanks so much.
tmvision
Okay, I still can't manage to get this up and running. Any other suggestions on how I can restore everything?
tmvision
Hello again. Is it possible to do a fresh installation of PrestaShop and then import my database and theme? Where abouts would I find a guide for such a venture?
