Supplier In Stock/Out of Stock

Hey Guys,

 

I currently run a store in South Africa selling computer parts. Some of the products I import myself but a large majority are sourced from distributors over here. We only order items when the customer has made payment so we never really keep most of them in stock.

 

Is there a way to show items as in stock with my supplier or possibly a module that I can use that can do this? My other option is to use supplier stock files to get an idea of how much stock they have and use the last items in stock option once it drops below 5.

 

What are the consequences of having items listed as in stock that are actually at my supplier if any. From an accounting perspective we run everything through a seperate accounting package so that isn't a problem but I am not sure if I am missing anything that could cause problems with Prestashop.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
