Hook right block column doesn't work

Goodday,

 

I am new to Prestashop and last weekend i tried to figure out how to create a template.

 

I got my header working with User information and shopping cart information and i build my own slideshow with featured products.

 

Now i am trying to get the new products module and the best products module to work. I positioned them in the right column hook. I add some new products. But nothing shows up. I put some text in the template of the new products module, but it didn't show.

 

I guess my right column hook doesn't work for some reason. I placed this hook in my index.php file, directly under de home hook.

 

Does anyone have an idea of what i am doing wrong?
