[SOLVED] remove advert from header

Recommended Posts

The module 'Header Logos' is in Modules>Front Office Features but disabling it also disables the Header logo.

Maybe you could try deleting the homepage ad image in this module, perhaps then it'll not show.

Edit:

Forget deleting the image, that doesn't work.

Open the modules/blockheaderlogos/blockheaderlogos.tpl file and delete the following

<a href="" style="float:right;display:block;margin:30px 40px 0 0">
 <img class="logo" src="{$BHL_HOMEPAGE_AD}" alt="" width="{$BHL_HOMEPAGE_AD_WIDTH}" height="{$BHL_HOMEPAGE_AD_HEIGHT}" />
</a>

That does the trick, I just tried it on one of my site using this theme.

Thanks for the help, I have removed the code as noted and now the image has gone.

Thanks.

As a follow up question, I have noted that within the theme folder is a Modules folder. Does this function in such a way as if I duplicate a modules filebase from the root Modules folder into the theme Modules folder, carry out my amends, and save this modification into my theme Modules folder it will overrule the files within the root Modules folder?

I'm not exactly sure how this works but this is my take on it.

The theme/modules folder in an override directory. The modules in this folder only contain the .tpl files. So modifications to the .tpl files for the theme are done on these so as not to change the original modules core files. Had this not been the case and the original core files modified, it would adversely effect any other theme that was subsequently selected.

I'm not sure if there is any coding elsewhere in the theme which tells the system to use these override files or if by virtue of them being there prompts the system to use these rather than the original.

I have asked in another thread about overrides but as yet there's been no response. I'm going to play around on my test site to find the answer myself.
