Home Page Meta Titles etc not updating in Google search

Hi All,

 

I have updated the meta-title, meta tags, meta description etc. for index.php in Back Office>> Preferences >> Meta-Tags. My problem is, under searches in google - The new info is not updating.

 

Is there a file somewhere that could be over riding this information? No where in my back office is the sentence that shows up on google entered?

 

Any ideas appreciated!

You don't say what is the version. Place you've done it is the right place. Products also have meta fields (Back Office > Catalog > Product 1.Info tab > Click here to improve product's rank in search engines (SEO))

 

You can also check that the changes are applied by visiting the page with the changed meta data and looking at the source code.

 

It may take a little while for Google to catch up with the changes you made. If however you are getting totally unknown words cached/indexed, please provide an example search result from Google with the corresponding page address at your site.
