Adding meta title and keywords to home page

Hi, how do you add the meta title, keywords and meta discription to the home page. Im on v1.4 but cant seem to be able to work it our.

In your back office (admin) go to preferences > SEO & URLs

In the list of files below, click the little notepad corresponding to the index.php file. Fill in the title, description & keywords. Click save.

It's a bit old topic, but still actual, it works the same in the 1.5.x versions

i cannot save my seo

after going in preferences > SEO & URLs and filled every thing for the index page, i have the following error message "Invalid URL rewriting"

it is for my home page

Thanks, i wanted to do the same but when i am doing it i am getting following error when i click to EDIT the INDEX file.

 

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.eknitwear.com/adminkiet/index.php?controller=AdminMeta&id_meta=4&updatemeta&token=a087835594fc09caee09019ac422ace4. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

Meta title is important but meta keywords are least important..

After Turning it on, i am getting this error.

I turned it on by going in config/defines.inc.php and made the following change
@ini_set('display_errors', 'on');
define('_PS_MODE_DEV_', true);
