popcorn1985
Hi, I have several items for digital download in my store, and now all of a sudden I am getting an error message when I try to create a new product and upload the file. When I try to upload the file it says: error: No permissions to write in the download folder I read that and think no problem, I will change the permission settings of the download folder, and yet it still doesn't work. Can anyone shed any light on why it's suddenly decided to stop working? And is there a simple fix? Thanks, Katie
tomerg3
Your host may have made changes to your server that would affect folder permissions, if it says that there are no permissions, it's not lying What permissions did you set to that folder? popcorn1985
HI, Thanks for posting so quickly! I have tried 777. 755, 644 and nothing seems to make a difference. I can't upload attachments either - I'm assuming it's all linked? Is there a file somewhere different from the download folder that I need to change the permissions for? (Sorry I am a bit new at all this!!!!) :)
tomerg3
Do you have any issues upload images? Which folder did you change the permissions for?
popcorn1985
Hiya, Yeah when I try to upload an image I get the following: 5 errors An error occurred while copying image: home An error occurred while copying image: large An error occurred while copying image: medium An error occurred while copying image: small An error occurred while copying image: thickbox I changed permission for the folder public/downloads assuming that's where they all went, but I have never had a problem with uploading images before either... it's all very strange. The only thing I can think that I have done differently is tried a new module - the 'new products' module and disabled it when I decided I didn't like it. But apart from that, I havent changed a thing in the store...
popcorn1985
Ok, think I might have cracked it. I switched to 'force complie' and turned the caching off and it works! The only problem I have now is that I am getting an error message saying 'Supplier ajax error: error'. This comes up on almost every screen in the product page. Is this related? Thank you so much for your replies!! :)
tomerg3
'force complie' and turned the caching off should have no affect on permissions. The ajax error was fixed in one of the latest PS version.
popcorn1985
And now the 'categories' block has disappeared within the product info so it's not letting me save it, hmmmm, just when I thought it was sussed!!
popcorn1985
I don't understand how it now works, and I am using prestashop 1.4.3 if that makes a difference?
popcorn1985
Sorry to keep posting, but this just gets stranger, I took off the minify options and now everything works in the back office....I see everything that I am supposed to and my downloadable product is now live in the store!
