[solved] PROBLEM! Bought adsblock module not showing up on f/o

Recommended Posts

Take a look in Modules>Positions

The module may have installed on the right column which you are not using. If this is the case you need to transplant the module to the left column.

Click on Transplant a Module, select the module from the first drop down and the position for it (left column) in the second drop down. Click save.

You should now see the module in the left column module list. Drag it to the position you want it in on the FO.

Good luck.

Got to say you have made a really nice job with your theme.

First thing I guess would be to temporarily switch back to the prestashop theme and see if the module shows up there. That would indicate if it's a theme issue or not.

Regarding using the right column, what theme are you currently using? I'm sure there's a way to activate the right column but I'm unsure of what's required to do it. Doing this may involve considerable changes. I would suggest you make a copy of your theme, rename it and use it for developing your changes on so you don't lose the integrity of your existing theme.

If you can duplicate your site and database and run it in a sub-directory, you could use it as a test site without having to take your main site off line while you do it.

Alternatively, you could set up a test site on your PC using something like WAMPSERVER. Just install this and download your site and a copy of your database. It's really worthwhile especially if you want to further develop your site.

Sorry about the long winded reply.

Thanks for the compliment Dave - it's a template from templatemonster.com, and I am so sorry to be stupid but I dont know how to temporarily switch back to prestashop, and I'd be a bit scared incase I lose all my data etc. It was a friend who set my webshop up and I haven't been able to get in touch with him in months and I really need more advertising on the page, I feel a bit limited with it, I also have videos etc which would be good, and would like a page, I didn't even realise you could buy modules to improve your site - yes I REALLY am that clueless!

Hi,

We all have to start somewhere. Don't worry, you'll not lose anything switching themes. It's very easy.

Go to Preferences>Appearance and scroll down until you see your themes, i think you will see two. Just click the radio button for the prestashop theme and then Save.

Go back to your front office (your website) and refresh the page. You will now see your site with the standard prestashop theme. See if that module is there or not.

Then do the same again to switch back to your templatemonster theme.

Regarding modules, there are many modules available on this forum for free. Many of which are really good. Check these out before going of to buy one.

By the way, the module/theme that you use is compatible with the version of prestashop you are using. I think you are using V1.3+, some modules designed for 1.4+ may not work with lower versions, themes for V1.3+ will not work with V1.4+

I just notice on your website you have a single word 'Advertising' under your payment logos and in links Face of Europe, so something seems to happening there.

Just had a look at the module and it should be compatible with bot V1.3+ and V1.4+.

Regarding upgrading, V1.4.4.1 is the latest of the 1.4+ versions and been around for a while now and has proved to be very stable. It is very much improved over V1.3+ in many ways. I initially resisted the change but once I did I was pleased of the move.

Your problem will be with your theme as it'll not be compatible with 1.4.4.1. However, there may be a similar one available or you could simply develop a new theme to look the same or at least similar. You could do this at no cost as there are plenty of free themes available without having to buy a new one.

Template monster may have a 1.4 update for your theme which they 'may' provide you free off charge if you ask them nicely.

Why not create a new folder on your server called prestashop and install the latest version there. When you have the new one how you want it you can simply swap them over.

Yes alright tomerg3 i have already apologized for that look further up! Im not very experienced with this sort of thing!

Dave just want to say thankyou so much for your help. The developer got back to me and seems to have fixed whatever the problem was.

I am about to post a new problem now...
