akwaor
I have Presta Shop 1.4.4.1 installed and am trying to set up my first store with Presta Shop. I am trying to add my first downloadable product and I am running into several problems. 1- In the add product screen I have check the downloadable product box, however, when I go to the Upload a file field and click on the browse and select my pdf file when I click okay nothing seems to happen and the box under Upload a file does not get filled in with anything. If I go ahead and save it saves the product but a red box appears above the upload field that says "This product is missing..." I tried manually uploading the file via ftp but still cannot find a way for Presta Shop to recognize the file. 2- The saved product does show up in the shop but indicates that it is "No longer in stock." Is this due to the above problem or do also have something else set up wrong. It seems to me that a downloadable product should not usually be out of stock unless there is a feature for limiting the total number of sales/downloads. Thanks for any assistance. So far I have liked what I have seen with Presta Shop but I do need to figure out this issue as I will be handling a fair amount of downloadable content in various formats. akwaor
Partial solution found - I resolved issue #1 above. I accessed the admin through a different computer using Firefox 3.6 instead of IE 9 and it successfully uploaded the file on first attempt with no apparent problems. It still is showing the item as "No longer in stock"
akwaor
I think I solved the second part of the problem too. On the product administration page Next to Stock Movement I changed "Order" to "Increase" and replaced the 0 with a 1 and then clicked on save. (Note, it seems to default back to the "On Order" which I have set to decrease by 0 on order as it is a downloadable product.) The item then indicated that it was available but there was a bold red alert that it was the last item in stock which I felt was misleading for a downloadable product so I followed the above process a second time increasing it by an additional 9 so that now the website shows there as being "10 items in stock" which still seems odd for a downloadable product but it at least makes it available to order and gets rid of the alert. One of the docs that I read on this indicated that there should be an initial quantity box. That was not showing for this product when I got down to that point of the screen due to the 'file not selected" problem and the mid-process save.
