Gift Certificate?

I am wanting to sell a gift certificate item. Is there a way to add "variables" to an item in dollar increments? Like 5,10,15 or $25?

 

There is an option to choose for different colors of an item. Could I change that code to be dollar rates for this?

Yes, using attributes and groups is one way achieving this.

 

1- Create an attribute group "Value" (Back Office > Catalog > Attributes and Groups > Add attributes group)

2- Add as attributes $5.00, $10.00, $15.00, ... for the attribute group "Value" (Back Office > Catalog > Attributes and Groups > Add attribute)

3- Create a product "Gift certificate" and make the price 0, enter other details, images, description etc. and save.

4- In "4.Combinations" tab of the product select "Product combinations generator" and create combinations from the "Value" attribute group in required quantities, matching the "price impact" to the value of the gift certificate.

 

The end result will be something like this. Ask if anything is unclear.
