Dalla
I´m using Prestashop for a customer and currently the´re looking to expand their business onto m-commerce. While looking around for framworks, I stumbled upon http://mobile.prestashop.com/. I don´t speak french, but I looks like there´s already an iPhone extension of Prestashop available to the french users. Is this the case? If so, when can we expect to see the same for the english speaking audience? BR Daniel
noesac
I'm hoping this is just a new UI that sits on top of the existing database, because i'm using v1.3 and dont' want to have to upgrade!!
Lucas Cherifi
Hello Dalla, Hello Noesac, We are currently working on the english version of the mobile.prestashop.com website. Ths first applications will be available on 15 november 2011. We are currently working on a translated version of the application (English, Spanish, German, Italian and more). This is not a mobile web template, this is a real native mobile application (iPhone and Android). And this mobile application needs web services available on your webshop (1.4+). Regards,
Mike Kranzler
Hi everybody, As Lucas said, the mobile platform is coming soon! In the meantime, you can get more details (including three preview videos!!!) here. Enjoy! -Mike

Regards, Does this mean people have to gain approval for and distribute their own app? Or there will be an official Prestashop app? If so won't all the customers out there know that your store is a prestashop template? And won't they be browsing many other stores too (your competitors)? Whatever the case are you saying that you need to ask customers to download an app first before being able to shop at your store? So the App store effectively becomes your marketing channel instead of Adwords etc? I can't see how any of this could work beyond being an impressive technical-show piece. Pxx
Is the fact that a mobile version of the site doesn't exist yet the reason why I can't log into my admin panel from my iPhone? Sorry, totally new to this...

One important question though... will we be able to customize the mobile app, other than through configuration via the back office? Will we be able to access the source code for the app? jtrlho
Hi Mike, I've tried to dial them several times but noone's picking up (I tried just now which is 11:24 Miami time). It dials for a while and then gets forward to an answering machine. I have also written the team using the contact form on the mobile.prestashop.com page but I can't seem to get in contact with them. I would really like to get started on a mobile solution for our shop. Do you know how I can get in contact with the team to get started with the mobile solution? Thanks. Mike Kranzler
Hi jtrlho, That's a bit strange because we have multiple people here ready for your call, and the phones are ringing all day! Did you hear an automated message giving you options to dial? -Mike

Kanary
Hi Kanary, Are you talking about an English version of the mobile app? -Mike yes Mike.
Mike Kranzler
Absolutely, but it isn't something you just enable in your Back Office. This is something that we help you develop from scratch and get approved by the Apple and Android app stores. If you would like some more information on this though, just give us a call at 888 947 6543! -Mike
