[SOLVED] Facebook encoding problem

Recommended Posts

For example this is my product page: http://www.dameja.lt...?id_product=119

Look at description "Stiklas, bižuterinis metalas. Ilgis su užsegimu 7,5cm."

When i post the same link on facebook wall i get this :

unledjg.jpg

You see that product description has encoding problems, i don't know where is the problem. In my webpage product's description encoding is ok, but when I share it on facebook...

Please help me, I searched everywhere, but i can't find a solution.

Hi TyMaNas,

This is something I've noticed myself on Facebook recently across plenty of websites, even ones that aren't PrestaShop sites. Fortunately, I think Facebook's team has noticed this as well, because they now allow you to edit those fields easily. Try clicking on the title or description and see if it lets you type your own description.

I hope this helps.

Same thing as with the text, Facebook grabs what they think is relevant. You'll see though in the screenshot you provided that they actually give you two image options with the arrows directly above "Be paveiksliuko."

Sometimes it'll grab significantly more than that, but you'd be amazed by what their script interprets as relevant from time to time.

Does this answer your question? If so, please mark this as solved by editing the topic title.
