Apply New Categories to Existing Vouchers

Hello all

We are using vouchers successfully with customers who change their mind and want a credit. When a voucher is created it can be applied to all the categories that exist at that time.

When a new category is created (newer than the voucher) the voucher cannot be used against these newer categories.

Is there a way to change it so that when a new category is created, all existing vouchers are automatically applied to these categories too?

A bit convoluted I appreciate, but it will save a lot of work if this automation can be implemented.

Thanks in advance,

There are some vouchers which are general to any customer, but the ones concerned are in effect "credit notes" to the value of the order. (The client organises triathlon races and if customer withdraws they get a credit rather than a cash refund).

So the voucher cannot be redeemed against any races added to the shop after the date the voucher was issued, unless we manually go in and amend each voucher. Each voucher has a 24 month expiry date. there are currently 200 'unique - use once only' vouchers.

A potential large amount of work once a new race is added to the calendar / shop!!

So, if the process was automated so that when i added another category, all existing (unused) vouchers could be redeemed against that category too, that would be great.

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify.

Hi Mike,

The url is: http://www.uktriathlon.co.uk/test/tristore/.

When a customer / entrant withdraws from a race, they are issued a voucher rather than their money back - the voucher can be redeemed against any future race within 24 months.

However, we have released new races (categories) post issuing vouchers and the entrants cannot select these categories unless we go in and add the new categories against their voucher. And then repeat the process for each voucher individually!

Thanks for the offer of help.
