mantradesign
I am struggling to find the best way to have products with two colour attributes and would welcome some suggestions. We print our own designs on t-shirts, sweatshirts etc. The t-shirts are available in several colours and the design is available printed in several colours as well. Some colour combinations are invalid, for example white printing on a white t-shirt. t-shirts are available in a lot of sizes, so using the Product combinations generator creates a huge number of product combinations of which many are invalid. If a customer selects an invalid combination, the text "The product does not exist in this model. Please choose another." is displayed which isn't ideal. What I'd really like is for the "Print colour" combo box to change to only contain the valid colours when the "t-shirt colour" is changed. Is that possible? Is there an easy way to restrict the huge number of size/t-shirt colour/print colour combinations generated? Am I doing this entirely the wrong way? Am I trying to do something beyond Presta Shop's capabilities?
FireHawk
Initially you will have a lot of combinations to go through adding in price etc. But you should only have to do that once if you are still loading your products in. If you have a lot of products already up and want to load in your attirbutes i would strongly recommend having a look at the module "Attribute Wizard Pro". Once you lay out your attributes with prices and lock out ones that are not available (white on white etc..) then the AWP module allows you to simply copy the attributes to all products you choose or all catagories. It saved me a huge amount of time and was well worth the money. Take a look at my site www.qtmdirect2u.co.uk When you view a product you'll see the dropdown menu's the AWP module produces. Just search the forum for AWP and i am sure you'll find a link to take a closer look.

mantradesign
I had a look at Attribute Wizard Pro and I don't think that will do what I want. In the end, I took the less-than-ideal approach of creating colours like "White, black print", "White, red print" and so on. That way, products have one colour attribute rather than two. I still end up with more that 100 combinations, which isn't good, but will do for now.
CartExpert.net
Hi! If you are proficient in coding you can create a small script to add the attributes to the products in specified categories.
