[SOLVED] ORLIQUE order manager version update

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have purchased the order manager module "orlique" form the add-on prestastore for 89€. I chose to use the prestashop store instead of the developer's because I don't like having too many accounts open everywhere and also because of the convenient integration with the back office .

I am now very frustrated to see that the version I got is 1.1 and the developer site says that 1.2 is available since August 26th, with upgrades I need.

What's the deal?

1) If we cannot be guaranteed to have the latest update on prestastore what's the point of buying at that location?

2) I would like to know now from the developer or from prestastore how am I going to get this latest update

A timely answer to this post will determine where I buy my modules from, in the future.

Hope this will help people looking at buying this module

Hi jhugues,

If you're having an issue with an external addon, you'll need to contact the developer of the module directly. We've already opened a line of communication with this developer due to a similar issue recently, so I will pass this along as well to try to get this taken care of for you as quickly as possible.

I just wanted to add onto this thread that I have also recently encountered this same problem. I have contacted the developer directly today and will post back here when I get in touch with them to let everyone know how this situation was resolved.

Cheers,

Justin

Thank you for this quick answer. It shows that you care but you missed my point. Prestastore, or the business side of this great open source software, is responsible for making sure that we don't have to deal with such issues. If the developer is not reliable it is up to you to let us know, otherwise what's the point of using your store? I am not having an issue with the developer: I am having an issue with your shop not being updated.

As you said, it looks like a communication issue with the developer and I hope you will straighten it quickly. This module is very convenient, well thought. I hope it will work and I want to continue buying from the addon shop.

I wanted to post back here that I received a very prompt response from the developer and received version 1.2 after verifying some purchasing information (great customer service thus far with the Developer).

Echoing on what jhugues said, I do not know the details of the situation with the addon shop not having up-to-date files but I have been in this situation as a developer before where I supply a sales platform with updated software and they will not post it for weeks on end. This causes irate customers who point fingers at the developer and it causes more work for the developer to fire fight and provide updated files. I hope this is not the case with the addon shop.

I spoke with our addons team, and they are reaching out to this developer directly. While justinl has a point about how some platforms don't update software, you also need to consider the inverse, that not all developers immediately submit an update to every single site where it is posted. Hopefully, we should have more information for you soon on this.

jhugues,

Did you never receive any sort of email like Pippo just mentioned?

-Mike

guess not since he used the prestastore and I used the developer's store.

btw mike, great presence here, see you quickly all over the forum. haven't been here for quite some time so I am positively surprised.

Hi Pippo,

Thanks for the kind words. We really are committed to increasing our presence here on the forums, so we always appreciate it when people notice it.

As for Orlique, I will mention that to our addon team that people who purchase products through our stores don't receive the same updates as those who buy directly from the developers, and hopefully we can work on a good solution.

thanks for working on your support. You have been timely in responding to emails recently. I know we are on other sides of the world. I expect it to take 1-2 days sometimes for responses. Your awake when i am asleep. I just got upset with 7 days and 4 days to get responces.

I sent you an email on how you can replicate the bug with it not allowing products to be added to the cart and that one i believe correlates to it removing items from the cart. I was setting the quantity of the item to 10 to put it in stock to work around your other bug adding the item to the cart and then setting the quantity back to -1 and then going back in to the product and editing something else to the order it would remove the item even though it was added when the item was in stock.

I just need it fixed because i take many phone orders and need to do it quickly. It accounts for a large part of my business. I do understand he is on vacation again and i must wait another week.

Hi,

ibought the module and i install it in my 1.4.8.2 version, but i have some problems:

- if i try to creat a new order, this order don't appear in BO list coz he don't have a status in ps_order_history and after clicking save button the module don't redirect me to new order page.

- If I click again on the Save button, the product stock change again in every click

knowing that I did the update my version 1.4.8.2 from version 1.2.5 so I guess my problem come from here.

thanks for your help

hi hulk. do you mean you had 1.2.5 running WITH orlique and then just updated to 1.4.8.2? Maybe you should then try to re-install Orlique. Sorry if this is what you did already and it does not help. I am running Orlique just fine and do not want to miss it anymore.

strange. maybe has to do with the fact that orlique is not officially compatible with 1.4.8, see http://prestashop-module.de/de/features-backend/78-orlique-der-order-manager.html. but then I wonder why it works with a native db of 1.4.8.2 anyway, guess you better contact the developer. sorry.
