Translating Manufacturer's Name

Recommended Posts

You never translate a name.

A category name can be translated, a product name can be translated, why not a manufacturer's name ?

Because a name is a name, If you would translate Apple (a well known brand) into another language and it would not look/read Apple who would recognize it.
My name is in 't Veldt and translated to English it would be in the Field.... does not make any cense.
Furthermore, the international rule is to never translate names.

Hi TropischBruin,

I can read the sound apple in many languages. Unless the language doesn't have sounds aa, pa and la.

I understand, why it should not be translated, but, that's quite not an explanation phonetically.

Cheers..

Do whatever you like, if you want to translate names, be my guest.
Be aware tha manufacturers could complain AND sue you for doing so.

But so many company will have translated name in different language, or written in different method, such as japaness, chinese rather than english. I think this was not possible to havn't translate the manufacturer name. It was joking to such an international faced program.
