Great job dev. team.Iw found some "search" problems...If you search for macbook you will find it but if your search dont start with first letter of the word it wont find it!?If you type acbook or cbook or book nothing will be found!?Is this something that will be fixed? can i rely on presta or to look for other shops?thanx. VIXUS
Yeah, iw just noticed that "search" is not working properly ( http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/12786/general_discussion/search_issues_dot__dot__dot_ ) but it seems that no one from developers wants to elaborate on this, or even to post a comment...I just hope that here ignoring problems is not a way of dealing with them... tatamata
Yes i see, not much official feedback on this matter. Maybe its sopose to work like that?
Cronos
Yes i see, not much official feedback on this matter. Maybe its sopose to work like that? The search query is passed as a string and then that string is searched for.Since we are using Smarty, the string what you type in the search will be taken and passed to check with the products fields. For such a query as you are asking, then *Query* should be passed and I am still not sure how one can do that in Smarty. I have checked couple of Smarty forums and read the documentation, but all in vain. Will update as soon as I find something which can be applied..Cheers..Cronos
tatamata
Thanx for this info.I must say that i am amaised that noone finds this as a problem.Every shopowner shud care that customer will find what is looking for, wich is not a case as it is now, no?This i find to be a major issue but if it can be fixed that is a good news.Looking forward for some solutions. What do you mean by CVS?Do you mean the SVN version? I have tried to use the new search in the SVN version but it does not work, gives an error, just copied it straight into the old 1.1 Prestashop version though. Is there a version that searchs tags yet?

eqilibrium
Same here... I'v runed some tests with 1.2 and gave up. No way I'm updating for now, to many incompatibilities with modules and templates. In my case, to upgrade I would have to redesign all the template and adapt a lot of things.
