VIXUS
I have some glitches with search option:eg. monitor HP-L2208w is the product i want to find: http://www.vixus.hr/shop2/category.php?id_category=5When i search for "2208" or "2208w" or "HP" it dosent find anything. But it works if i type full correct name "HP-L2208w" or even just letter "a" or number "1" (in this case it finds everything )How does this search works? ...and where to fix that? 1959
I tried this solution for the search problems I am having (described in this thread http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/14850/general_discussion/search_gives_results_but_no_products_shown) but it didn't help. Any ideas?
daYmo
Yep, the best idea is to update your prestashop via SVN. A new search algorythm & functionalities are available.

daYmo
Yep, something in the database. Now the best is to make an update from SVN. The search functionnality is far better thanks to Damien Metzger.have a look on my site I just "customized a little".try to search for "H4" or whatever ! "zoom" ... My search.php file was just a fix waiting for this real update.See ya

daYmo
Ohhhhh ! no no no. SVN version is not suitable for a live site ! I thought you just wanted the search functionnalitie from SVN version.Sorry.Too much changes on the full SVN verison.Even just to integrate search functionnality it took 3 days to me to put it into production environment (database changes, Files merges, etc etc). how often does the SVN version update ? > Each time a PS developper commits his work
bsphere
does it mean that on the next PS release there will be about a week work to do all the changes to the default theme from the start or the modified theme can be used ?
daYmo
I'm not speaking about the theme !If you just changed the theme it'll be ok. But I didn't. I mean I did so many changes in all classes & files & templates that ... It will took about a week to me.For the theme, just css stuff it'll be grant ! bsphere
what's the best way to get the new search into 1.1 ?(update to 1.2 and then put the 1.1 files with 1.2 classes/search.php ?
daYmo
No ! You have to find which files have been modified with a "diff" or whatever you use in your CVS systemYou have to update database also. It's absolutely not trivial but possible (sorry I can't remember which files I updated myself...) outlet.ee
I have a similar issue. Tried to find search term which is actually a reference of an active product. It produces 1 result only in default language, the rest of the total 4 languages produce nothing. Why is that?
