Store Almost ready to deploy pending a few issues...

My store is almost ready to go live. I have a few remaining issues perhaps I could get some help/insight on.

 

I'm using the UPS ship module with a fairly vanilla install of persta shop 1.4.4.1

 

Issues and questions:

1) how can I add handling to certain items specific to that item? I need to add $3.00 to one product and $6.00 to a different product due to the cost of the box and packing materials. I don't want to just add it to the price of the item. I tried adding a price in "Additional Shipping cost" for the item but it does not translate to the final shipping cost.

 

2) How can I add "additional items" shipping? i.e. the first item is $15, more of the same adds $5 each for shipping.

 

3) How can I remove Specials, New Products and Top Sellers from my bottom footer bar?

 

4) How can I center the bottom footer bar instead of left justified?

 

5) How can I wipe the test orders and start clean? In the beta setup we have about $10,000 in bogus orders placed by our dog (we used his name for the test account). I want to wipe all that clean and start with no orders.

 

6) When I move my store from eStore-beta to eStore I'm aware of only one place to make the change in the path. Are there more dangers lurking when I do that?

 

 

 

Bugs:

1) I'm a little worried about the database. The first time I saw the behavior I nuked the entire thing database and all. The behavior has returned. In "Default Category" for an item sometimes "Ipod" shows up. I've long since deleted the category "Ipod". It does not seem to affect anything, the products still appear where they should. Concerning though. Has anyone else seen this? How to fix?

 

2) Similar issue in the UPS module. In product settings the "Product" drop down lists the same item description over and over. Most of my items were cloned from a template item and that name appears for every product. i.e. Widget-T is the template. I create items Widget1 to 10. The drop down shows a list of Widget-T for every product. If I select the third occurance of Widget-T and save it, Widget-3 appears in the list.

 

 

Oberservations / Wish list:

 

I have reached the conclusion it is simply not possible to have some items ship free and others require shipping. I almost had it solved but then putting a "free" ship item and a cost ship item in the cart at the same time didn't work.

 

I'm sure I'll have more questions. I appreciate any help I can get. This is stepping off into "independence" for us and we have our first national exposure coming in in about a month with TIME. I just want it to work smoothly.

I addition to the above, Is there anyway to set a max shipping? i.e. even it it calculates as $60 it will stop and $40.
