vet
hi, this is my first post, i am new to prestashop. i installed prestashop today and uploaded a new template, i had a few issues i managed to solve thanks to posts on this forum but i can't seem to be able to find a solution for this one. i deleted all the categories on my website, put some new categories on the catalog and deleted all products as well. the things that happened is that the old categories still showed up in the menu on the home page even though the pages themselves didn't existed (giving an error page when clicking them), and the new categories do not show on the side menu of the home page. when viewing other pages than the home page (those who i deleted) those new categories showed up instead of the old ones that shouldn't exist. very confusing bug and i have no idea how to fix this. i was just in the beginning of updating the website so i decided to re-upload the backup i did, it should reset everything to default and from there i will Edit the categories instead of deleting them, i hope it will solve the problem but this is a bug nevertheless. did anyone had a similar problem? Thanks David my prestashop website: http://pig-deal.com
vet
the back-up didn't solve the problem completely, still can't see all of the category that should be there, some categories that have been updated don't show the update on some pages including home page. interesting thing, the menu shows fine on other languages than english. would apritiate any help cause i'm stuck here. vet
basically the problem was incompability of the theme with the prestashop version i was using. i partially solved it by switching Smarty 2 instead of smarty 3, but i had other issues so i decided to upgrade to the new prestashop version and then i put a new theme compatible with this prestashop version. if you don't want to do these changes, you can try to go to prefferences tab, there you will find an option Use Smarty 2 instead of 3 Yes No switch it to "yes" and then refresh the browser it may solve this specific problem. Kerm
Just after delete or add new category clean on FTP cache and compile folders in tools/smarty.
