obejason
I am receiving confirmation that my database is connecting during System Configuration but when I click the "Next" button, the grey circle spins and nothing happens. I have checked through several past posts in the forums suggesting to "uncheck the receive notification emails" box - but this applies in a later step; not applicable in this case. I've tried 3 different browsers, suspecting that the issue could be the jquery/ajax installer - but that doesn't solve the issue. I've tried changing the language from English (default) to French - as someone suggested in an earlier post but that doesn't help. I've tried installation the basic version versus the 100+ modules - and that doesn't do anything either. In short, I've tried 1,000 different combinations of everything under the sun, even looking through past changelogs and searching the internet for older version to upload - with no luck. Any suggestions or advice?

zapmore
I have the same problem, have searched thee forums and tried all the possible solutions and still can't get past step 3. I spent a whole day now trying to get past step 3! The database get populated but after the loading screen, the page is still step 3, however if I press NEXT, it says that the database already exist. Really enoying since I just spent a lot of time comparing different e-commerce solutions and decided on prestashop because many people suggested it easy usage. peepo
When did you download your install package? I had install problems with 1.4.4.0. - package I downloaded on the day of prestashop hacking. But the day after when I got 1.4.4.1 the problems stopped. May have been coincidence though.

Yeah, I just downloaded the latest version 3 days ago - the same day I experienced my install errors.

Mike Kranzler
Hi everybody, I spoke with our development team, and most of the time, this is an issue with your webhosting. Have you checked the folder rights and enabled PHP5 either in the webhosting backoffice or your htaccess file? -Mike
nlok888
I am using local xampp to install prestashop 1.4.4.1 and face the same problem. I saw no error in google chrome's log. Still stuck at the "shop configuration" screen. Checking the database, no record inserted into "employee" table. Can view the front page but cannot login to admin page since no record inside "employee" table. Any idea? Regards, Norman.
zapmore
What solved my issue was to change Innodb to Myisam in the installation step, then everything went smooth... Don't know the real difference of these two, but now I can at least use prestashop
