flix
I'm about to launch my new Prestashop store, and have a question about redirecting some of the old pages. Has anyone had experience of redirecting internal pages to a new url with Prestashop? At the moment, I have plenty of internal links that have backlinks, and I want to preserve this link juice, but as soon as I switch to the new site all of those urls will be different. So example.com/bluewidgets.aspx will now look like example.com/blue-widgets.php. I was wondering the best way of 301 redirecting the old links to the new format? The homepage example.com will of course still be fine. I've looked into modifying .htaccess to 301 internal pages, but most of the guides seem to be related to whole domain redirects, rather than individual pages. The other issue I've come across with .htaccess is that when friendly urls are applied via the Prestashop back office, it warns you to not modify the file manually at all, any ideas about what to do here? Help appreciated!
Ditty
Place this code in your .htaccess file: redirect 301 /bluewidgets.aspx http://www.yoursite.com/blue-widgets.php
