Index, rewritten URL

Hello,

 

I have posted this in the configure forum but had no answer and it drifts away so quickly. Thought I Might find the answer here.

 

Using version 1.4.4 and when I try to rewrite the URL for index.php I get a message saying, "Url rewrite field must be filled at least in default or english language." Now, I can only speak and write English so I need to overcome this, to me, nonsense message.

 

I did find another thread suggesting some lines to put into a tpl file but that was for an earlier version and surely if that was the fix the developers would have done that by now. Instinct tells me that the solution has to be simpler.

 

Any suggestions appreciated

P.S. Fantastic for free but Prestashop can be so frustrating.
