FireHawk
Hi, I am wanting to use the url re-write function so i understand that i need to put a .htaccess file on my ftp. I've created the blank file but when i goto upload it, nothing goes there. I use filezilla program and it seems to copy it accross and upload but the file doesn't show on the remote site. When i try to upload it again, normally you get the box asking whether you want to overwrite or not, but i never get that box so the file just doesn't exist and still doesn't after trying again. Really confused now. Any ideas?
FireHawk
Solved this quite simply myself after searching for ages... Seems my ftp program was hiding files. Once i forced it to see hidden files the .htaccess file was there and i could set the permissions correctly (666) and then turned on friendly url and generated a new .htaccess file from within the BO. Hope this helps anyone else with a similar problem.

pzmeyer
HI, in the BO, under "Tools", there is a generator for the htaccess. It create it directly in your main directory.
