Categories and cache problem

I recently had a incident that removed all my translations for categories, products etc.

 

Yesterday I started translating this again and worked my way through the category names.

I was a bit surprised that the translation didn't show, but after I turned on force compile and off cache it did, so I thought all was well and good.

But, I just looked again today and everything is still (or again) in English for the Swedish language.

 

A bit of testing shows that in order to show the Swedish version I have to turn off the cache in PS!

 

I've tried this on two computers and both FF and IE and have removed cookies etc, so I'm pretty sure it's not a client issue.

 

Can somebody tell me what's going on, please, and what to do!

 

Edit: I just checked that editing the Swedish version of a product does work.

Edit: I tried adding a new category and it only shows up when cache is turned off...

I just noticed a quite strange behaviour:

Clicking for example any of the four bottom-most categories, Other Games, Miscellaneous, Cartoons, and Bargains makes all categories switch to the (correct) Swedish version, the added test category also appears.

But clicking for example the Category Go (and of course the main page) and the (faulty) English version is shown.

Nobody knows?

I saw a couple of others had this problem and solved it by upgrading, but since I just upgraded that is not very tempting - lots of code changes...
