[Solved] 404 Pages Generated When Clicking On Cms Pages, Fresh Install

I thought I would share a strange issue which I took a while to figure out - please advise if there is an easier way to fix.

 

I was clicking on a menu link to the 'Stores' page for example and it would redirect me to a 404 not found page in my store (e.g my.domain.com/stores), this would also happen with some CMS pages that I tried to link via a menu or whatever...

 

To fix CMS pages I had to go to >Tools >CMS - then edit the page with the issue and change "Friendly URL" to be something else e.g. from: 'delivery-returns' to: 'delivery-returns-ordering'

 

I then had to go to >Preferences >SEO & URLS and repeat the same with all pages (to be safe) for this to work.

 

after you have done this you can change back to the original URLs if you wish.

 

This corrected the issue.

or use "seo friendly url s " in your tpl file its a solution too
