Added products as optional extras within products?

Hi, this is a little tricky to explain but here if what I want to do.

I have 2 products, one is called "side seals" one is called "side seal springs". Both of these products can be purchased individually but I want the option of when someone goes to the product "side seals" there is the option for them to add "side seal springs", if they do I want the data from "side seal springs" to be displayed and then the user can add it all in on click of "add to basket". I know this is possible with other software's i have used like magento, but can't find a simple way in prestashop. Can someone help?

I'm sure you could do that with Attributes and Groups.

 

Just think of the springs as a colour selection, but instead of calling it 'red' you call it 'springs'. You pick it from a drop down and the price is adjusted accordingly.

I would really like it to pull the info from the "side seal springs" product, otherwise when i change the price I would have to change it on both the actual product and the attribute wouldn't I? The would be ok for 1 or 2 products but I will have many that I want to do this.

I'm not sure of any other ways to achieve this.

 

Another option would be to use the Accessories option in the add product page. This would at least put the springs product listing on the seals product page and visa versa.

 

Customer would need to add to cart separately but at least it would be on the same page.

 

 

Maybe someone else will come back with some more suggestions later on.

humm the accessories option is better, not perfect but better. Thanks for the help. If someone knows a way to actually link them then please let me know
