Secure Connection Failed

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

My prestashop without SSL works just fine (at least until now)
When i turn SSL on via Backoffice i get this erro when login as a user in front office:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.culturadotabaco.com.

SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)

The page you are trying to view can not be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

In my host i have the option for SSL management.

I have 3 options:
Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys.
Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.
Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates.

i configured all the 3. What i'm doing wrong? what do i have to configure and how in my host to activate SSL so my store works just fine with the SSL activated?

Thank you mates

After installing the SSL cert ( server side ), you have to enable it from the BO...

Requirement: you must have a dedicated IP to install the SSL cert. ;)

Ok my host said that i need to buy static IP and SSL certificate. Both is up to 60€ per year, more expensive that actual host space.

My question is, how important is it to have SSL security in the store? Is it worth spending almost 70€ per year?

Its what I tell you from the start... SSL cert wil not secure your website, its only in place to secure transmission dur exchange from your customer pc to your website... Hope this clarify again your question...

Securising your website and SSL cert are 2 differents things... ;)
