Product Packs rely on original products stock

Maybe I am just missing where this feature resides. When you create a product in the category you have the choice of making it a pack and adding coupling other products from your catalog. I have a feeling the feature I need is there, but just over looking it. How do I make the product pack item pull the inventory numbers from original items in the pack.

 

For instance.

I have product 1

and product 2

 

I make a product 3 that is just both product 1 and 2 in a package.

How do I make product 3 get its inventory levels from product 1s levels and product 2s.

It seems to be fixed in 1.4.3, I used to have this problem but not any more :-)

I am running 1.4.4.

 

Any idea if the levels are updated via a cron or something? Because it hasnt been instantaneous for me, but maybe runs as a job?

 

Also, can you tell presta to use the items in the packs weights and height to figure out the packs total?
