sliksock
I am new to ssl and prestashop. I have installed prestashop in my secure website as created by my provider. It can be seen here: https://xthe6milliondollarblog.merchantquest.net/ The problem is that some things are still being generated by prestashop as http:// The homepage logo that is missing is one, as you can see. If you click to view one of the dummy items I created, it also tries to call http:// Yet, it also uses https:// on occasion as well, witness the small logo at the top, or the picture for my dummy item at the bottom. Anyone know what it is I have done wrong? I have ssl enabled in preferences. Thanks a million for any help. sliksock
jhnstcks
Secure pages, those needing https, only need to be used on a few pages on your site, not ever site. These include the contact form, login pages, registration pages and any of the checkout pages. Attempting to use https on pages that don't require will slow your site down, as everything will need to be encrypted before it is sent to the visitor and then un-encrypted at the visitors end. As the pages that don't require https to be used are not coded to use https then you will constantly receive warnings about unsecured data on those pages. How do I make it so that only a few pages are https? That isn't explained in the setup instructions. Is there somewhere that I can read a tutorial on how to place only certain parts in my https folder? Thanks sliksock

oxyweb
hi, Prestashop does this automatically so if you went to the site http://www.b323lah.com and added a product to the cart and then clicked to view the cart it will automatically set it to https://www.b323lah.com/order I'm using 1.4.4.0... 1. In Back Office > Preferences > SEO & URLs > Shop domain name for SSL should be blank (empty). 2. In Back Office > Preferences > Enable SSL should be set to Yes
Izzyflex
hi, I may be missing a setting thats obvious, but mine isnt that at all. when i add a product to the cart and then view the cart, it is still on http and not https. in fact, if i force the url to https, it reverts back to http. any suggestions? im using 1.4.4.
ysco
Hello slicksock, I can not visit the your link that starts with https i get a 403 error in firefox. As already said, placing your whole site in https is not a good thing as it will slow down your site dramatically. If you have set the settings correct in BO then all should work without a problem and only the necessary parts off your site should be automatically using https. ysco..
