Incomplete Installation

Recommended Posts

Hello, i´m a complete newbie on this, I am a seassoned developer. I had downloaded v1.1 final release, acomplished all prerequisites, and followerd the installation wizard but it simply gets stuck at step 2. It took more than 15 min there, then nothing. However I beleive that the installation has been acomplished correctly, you can see it running at
http://travelexpress.com.mx/ec and you´ll see the portal running. As advised in the install tutorial, I´ve did delete the install folder and renamed the admin folder to admin7102 but I can´t login, perhaps this is because at some missed point of the install wizard I was suposed to register the copy? wich username / password should I use?

Thanks for any help

Nope, during the install I only provided the database server, database username, database password and also configured and sent the email stpm settings, I´ve sent me the test email successfully, that's all I was able to do during the install wizard.

I was not asked a username / password. What now?

Thank you

Ok, I can do that but, is not that perhaps it has to do with the hosting? I am hosting under Windows 2008 (IIS 7.0) with CGI and PHP 5.2 support, I think this should not be a problem since al prerequisites were covered and approved by the install wizard... I am aslo getting this error when doing domain/admin7102 the panel says:

'There is 1 error
Path is not the same between your browser and you server :

- Server:
ec/admin7102/login.php

- Browser:
D:\Inetpub\vhosts\travelexpress.com.mx\httpdocs\ec\admin7102\login.php'

How do I fix this? And another thing, Can´t I instead of wyping out everything, just create mannually a DB entry for an admin user? is it not that easier?

Thank you

Thanks for the link to the other post from people having the same issue; what I honestly think is not reasonable at all is that the installer requires to gran write permissions to the PHP folder under C:\system32 ! this is absolutely not possible for hosted applications (such as mine) I am not willing to host to another company, to pay another hosting or to run my homemade apache just because of this; moreover, why is that I do run Joomla and other fine software as this with no problems at all?

Question, does the older version has the same issue? Should not be easier to change this requirement in future releases? Is there any workarounds for this?

Thank you

This issue can be overcome. Doesn't it Damien ? ;-) Moreover this can be useful to know for others !

Can you provide with url of the install wizard on your domain ?
