Lindsayanng
I am shocked that if you leave out a weight range that it puts the shipping as FREE!! I mean, if i want USPS to be used for my small products that are 0-1lb and I create USPS weight zone of 0-1lbs and then UPS zone of 1.1-999999lbs one would THINK that the UPS option would simply not show up because it does not exist for that zone! Does anyone have a work around for this.. it's relatively urgent OR if doing it by weight is too difficult, is there the ability to allow free shipping per product via a module? I know it's not available out of the box.
Lindsayanng
Ok i found the "disable carrier if out of range" option so set the USPS to have a weight range of 0-1lbs and then UPS GROUND to have a range of 1.1-999lbs.. I added items to my cart to equal 10lbs and now I am getting "no carrier found that will deliver to your address"

shokinro
I read your question, but I am confused with your Zone and Weight Range, they are different concept. You only mentioned the range definion and didn't mention zone definition. Also your range definition has a gap 1 - 1.1(0 - 1, 1.1 - 99999), I am not sure what is the purpose. Could you explain you problem more clearly?
Lindsayanng
HOLY COW THIS SHIPPING IS A MESS!!!!!!!!!!! So I had to reset the module and now it is working.. kinda The UPS shipping module is there and pulling information but now my table rate prices, which has a weight zone of 0-1lbs at $0.00 is not showing up.. I thought it was because I had the option of disabling the carrier so I enabled it and now on a product that is 1lb it shows $23.00 which is the HIGHEST amount.. Lindsayanng
Ok.. sorry for the confusion.. By zone I meant range.. The geographic zones are all the same, so disregard that. I have weight ranges as below: MY CARRIER: 0lb - 1lb = $0.00 (set to do not display if over rage) UPS CARRIER 1lb - 999LB =$rate pulled from UPS (set to do not display if over rage) When I create this and I add a product to my cart that is 1lb I get the maximum MY CARRIER zone which is $
Lindsayanng
I guess in my case the "free shipping starts at" should be "free shipping ENDS at" because my free shipping is on SMALL items, not large ones.
Lindsayanng
Ok FINALLY got it down.. Holy cow that took a bit of work. At least now I know that I can disable a shipping method for products of a certain weight and have the free option show up only on the lower weight items. It took finagling the numbers for some reseason and saving and resaving (sometimes saved changes didn't show on the front end even if I had the smarty compiler forced) I basically managed to set free shipping on all small items by setting my own carrier named ' CARRIER' do not show if product exceeds it's range. I created a weight zone for CARRIER of 0-1lb and the price of that zone was $0.00 Then for the UPS Ground I created a weight zone of 1-9999 and I am now able to enable that shipping option ONLY for UPS. It's not pretty, but it works. I feel that the idea situation would be able to set FREE SHIPPING with a few more options - for instance by weight, by price, by product, by category, etc. Now I need to set all items that will have free shipping to 0 weight so that multiples of these items never trigger the next weight range
