OC2PS
I really like the way Wordpress has implemented themes, not the least because it makes configurable themes like Weaver possible. If you are a commercial enterprise, you don't need to get a coder to create a bespoke theme for you. Just download the free, flexible, configurable Weaver theme, and you can practically create any look with it. Add the plugin Weaver Plus to it for advance options, and you can even create new widget areas! I can go on and on, but instead, I've attached a few screenshots from the admin panel to give you a sense of what I'm on about. It would be smashing, and indeed pathbreaking to have such a theme for Prestashop. And undoubtedly it will also put Prestashop's already impressive software head and shoulders above other OpenSource eCommerce scripts. I believe it will accelerate adoption, because one of the things that tiny business owners struggle with is getting the look right...not everyone can or wants to hire a coder to do this work for him/her, especially as that money is better spent on adding some very good functionality via Prestashop modules. OC2PS
One big reason for this request/ problem that this will solve is: As a small entrepreneur, even if I pay someone to create a theme for me, with every upgrade I am scared that my theme will break...sometimes, the theme creator can quickly patch it up for me, but a lot of times either the programmer won't be available easily or would even charge for the change. If, instead of a custom theme, I am using a Weaver-like theme with admin-panel-based customizations, the end-result (in terms of how the shop looks) is the same, but the shop owner is able to do it: a. cheaper b. faster c. more reliably and sustainably d. update PS with confidence and in a timely fashion
