Chaging the Layouts of Products

Hey Everybody,

 

I'm trying to figure out how to change the layout of how products are viewed in each category. I want to make it so only the Product Image, Name, Price, Availability, Add to Cart and View are visible. I don't want the Short Description or Description Visible. Also, if it's possible, to have each product about the width of the Product image, so it doesn't take up much space.

I want to do this so there's more than just 10 Products displayed per page, in the same amount of space, so customers don't have to set it to 20 products per page, and scroll a lot.

I really hope to hear from the board. I'm not good with code, but once I know what to change, I'll be able to do it.

The file in question is themes/yourtheme/product-list.tpl

Look for product_desc for where the short description is shown.

 

Maybe somebody else can help you to change the layout into two or more columns (which is what I think you want), also the CSS might have to be changed, use firebug to find out what/where.
