BenC
I have been using prestashop now for 3 years and I have to say out of all the other oscommerce products I have tried this is the best, the only part I cant seem to get right is the shipping. At the moment I have 3 zones setup UK & Northern Ireland Europe Rest Of The World Lets say product (A) weighs 10kg, all postage costs are correct, product ( weighs the same and although has the same UK postage cost the prices for shipping outside of the UK are alot higher. To resolve this I need to increase the product weight but then im left with a problem that doing this will increase the shipping cost for the UK which I cannot do. If I leave it the same to post out to UK at correct price I could be loosing lots on international......im in a dilemma and with postage costs increasing over the past months this is starting to become a bigger issue for me. Ideally the best way would be to have individual postage costs for each country this way I can enter the exact costs and that'd be the end of it but I cant seem to find any modules which will allow me to do it. Can anyone help? Regards Ben

You ship to UK & Northern Ireland, Europe and Rest Of The World. So you need to have 3 Carriers set up, each have the same weight ranges but different prices. Each Carrier has it's Zones applied to it in the Carrier set up. The shipping cost will be applied to the product based on the customers registered delivery address. Hope this helps. BenC
I must be doing it wrong. I have added another option for shipping but now on checkout I get 2 options 1 priced at the cost with the UK shipping, the wrong one, and 1 with the correct cost. If I remove the incorrect cost via weight then it will mess up some other items shipping costs. Any ideas Dave, am I doing it wrong?

If not prestashop doesn't know the location for the delivery so will show both options. Once logged in prestashop will look at the registered delivery address and base the shipping on it. BenC
Hi dave, Yes im logged in as a customer with my address changed to USA I have chosen a new 'USA shipping' carrier with weight ranges that covers one product however when I choose the country in the dummy profile ive setup with the item in the basket it brings up 2 options for shipping. I have just noticed this morning that I can select each country's zone by country name, is that the best way to do it? That would give me a more specific postage price I think? Hi Ben, In Shipping>Carriers, look at the carrier settings and you can see which Zones that Carrier is assigned to. You can uncheck the box of the Zone you don't want it to deliver to. I have just noticed this morning that I can select each country's zone by country name, is that the best way to do it? That would give me a more specific postage price I think? There are a few ways you can set this up to get it to work, it all depends on your circumstances. For example: One of my sites is set up to be Thailand Specific. My Zones are Asia & zone 1 to zone 10. The only country active is Thailand and it's zone is set to Asia. For this site the states are Thailand's 76-Provinces, each of which is assigned to one of the zones. A clients site is UK specific. The zones here are UK (mainland), UK (Scottish Borders), UK (Northern Island) etc. The country is set to zone Europe (even though that zone is disabled) and the states are all the UK counties. So, basically Carriers are zone specific, you get set them to deliver or not deliver to any of the zones you have set up. The zones can be any geographic area and can be named however you wish as they have no other function other than grouping your delivery areas. Not sure if any of that helped. It helped me as i was wondering if the State Shipping Zone would override the Country Shipping Zone and by your answer i see it does, so having Portugal set to Zone Europe and Each States with it's own zone the State zone will be applied in the checkout. Thanks a lot, you saved me from 5 hours of testing
BenC
I think I understand now, if I mark each carrier by country ie USA Standard UK Standard Ireland Standard Then apply each carrier per country I can set the price per weight to determine cost per country I'll take my shop offline today and start having a play with it!
