Need to chage Shopping Cart and Login

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm very new to Prestashop. I'm working with the Black&White free theme, and I want to change the area at the top of the page that contains the shopping cart info and login. I don't even know exactly what this is called, which might be part of my problem in finding something about it on this forum.

I'm attaching an image with the area I'm talking about circled in red. I'd like to just have a simple button that says "View Cart". With the Welcome | Login and View Cart button all in one line.

Any ideas, or resources, very much appreciated!

Well, I think I've figured out that this is the "block top cart" module in the main prestashop directory. I can't find a module in the Black&White theme.

Does anyone know what file I need to edit to change this? I opened up Firebug and found all of this code that relates to it (see attached image), but I don't know if this will help me. And I'm not even sure where that file is, where the code is coming from.

Right now it's calculating how much the total is, shipping and everything. I don't need it to do that. All I want is to change the line of text that's a link to the shopping cart page, to an image (a button) that's a link to the shopping cart page.

Can anyone help?? I've only ever worked with html and css before, I don't want to break anything!

So, has no one changed this function in a theme before? If you did, how did you do it? Do I need a new module, or can I change some code? I'd rather change some code and upload a new image to work as a button.

Also, I've got a new problem! I was playing around with the settings in the BO, installing and uninstalling the module, turned off and on the Ajax Cart setting. And now it's sitting in the wrong place on the page! So I copied the original module, replaced it in the modules directory, reinstalled and it's still sitting in the wrong place. It's not at the top of the page anymore. I've taken a screen shot in live edit mode, if that can give you any clue as to what happened.

Any ideas? Anybody? Where to fix this? When I go to positions, to change the hook, all the pull down menus are grayed out. I don't know what to do.
