Is it possible to add a Manufacturer "Range", "Line" or "Style"?

We carry a number of household goods in our shop, and many of the manufacturers we work with offer product lines or ranges.

 

Let's take dishes (plates, cups, bowls), for instance. A manufacturer may have many different lines or designs of dishes.

 

Let's say I have a shopper who wants to buy a complete set of dishes for my kitchen. The shopper want these dishes to match, which means she needs to order all of them not just from the same manufacturer, but also from the same product line or range offered by the manufacturer.

 

Is there a way to track this kind of information in the Prestashop backoffice, and is there a way to group products by manufacturer product line in the frontoffice?

If you don't use e.g. Suppliers or Manufacturers, you could rename one of them to "Product lines".

We are using manufacturers and suppliers at the moment. The shop we're setting up will have more than 10,000 products when it's done, so we need to keep track of manufacturers and suppliers.

 

Any other tips for getting product ranges or lines working in PrestaShop?

Maybe using Features and a Filter By Feature Module (one should exist?) is easiest.
