netrover
Hi everyone, please forgive me if this is a silly question.I am new to presta and I have just installed my first shop with all the demo products.I added the new 15% VAT rate for the UK but it appears that it now has to be changed manually for all the products. It is definately something I have done wrong as i don't think that this would be the case for stores to have thousands of products and then vat changes.thank you in advance,Andy
TropischBruin
Do it via MySQL with a query (don't ask me which query).
netrover
Hi there, thank you for the reply.I needed a simple solution as the client will not be able to do that.He did not like vat on each product anyway andis hoping I can change it to add upon checkout. It does look better on a trade only site to show net prices. Also he will only have to update the vat in one place in the future.

msk69
did you try this? maybe that helps you out? set Display pre-tax price on product page to yes.
netrover
Hi there, yes I had it like that on my first setup for him.He wants to focus on the prices without the tax (VAT).As most of his custom is vat registered they claim the vat back anyway so it says it just makes his store look more expensive. He would prefer to just show: £xx.xx +vatand then tax added at checkout.I think someone else just changed the code around so the net price showed first and was bigger. That might keep him happy but I am not sure how that would be done.
msk69
probably you have to look for it in templates/yourtemplate/product.tpl starting line 171our price display and pretaxe_price. Just backup and mess around :-)
